Airborne Systems Canada is actively engaged in the design, development, manufacture and export of military defense products; aerospace safety, rescue and life support equipment. Airborne Systems Canada Ltd. is one subsidiary of Airborne Systems Group which is an integration of Irvin Aerospace Canada Ltd., Paraflite, Irvin-GQ, and Irvin Aerospace Inc. effective April 1, 2007.
Irvin Aerospace was originally incorporated in 1919 shortly after Leslie Leroy Irvin performed the first premeditated free fall parachute descent. His early love for the sky and concern for the safety of those who entered it was the outstanding cornerstone for the firm that still bears his name. In June 2001 Irvin Aerospace became a subsidiary of Airborne Systems NA Inc. and with this amalgamation some reorganization of these companies was necessary.
